Employ the World

Get the Job, Keep the Job, Use the Job.

The mission of Employ the World to enhance the quality of life for all through sustainable employment.

Empowering local leaders and mentors with the effective skills, training and tools they need.

To assist the un-employed in their communities to prepare for, to find, to keep and to leverage employment; changing their lives for the better.

Our why...

Throughout the globe poverty has flourished despite significant Government funding intended to eliminate it. Decades of social support has in many areas bred dependence by addressing the symptoms rather than the causes of Jobseeker disengagement.

Long term unemployed lack the confidence that comes with understanding the industry and employer requirements of potential employees; they lack drive, failing to grasp the true benefits of ongoing employment for themselves and for their families.

Because of what is in many cases a multi-generational condition, they lack the life skills that will allow them to remain in employment beyond the short term.

Randall has changed the attitudes of young people towards learning and life. Featured on ABC's Australian Story, in Monash magazine and in the 2006 ICET World Assembly, since 1995, Randall has worked in schools, remote communities, juvenile justice centres and jails. His programs have had remarkable success with young people whose quality of life has been threatened by drug dependency, homelessness and isolation.

Working with Aboriginal elders, students, teachers, parents, long-term unemployed, CEOs and board members, with a debilitating back condition and having lost his son to cancer, he understands how we can mould our destiny.

Despite years of homelessness, and extreme seclusion, Gregory is an academic in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Southern Cross University, having completed a PhD. For much of his adulthood he was homeless; and by his own admission, a 'do not approach' figure living as a hermit in a forest in northern NSW for more than 10 years.

Gregory's story including his childhood spent in orphanages, boys' homes and youth detention centres, has inspired Jobseekers throughout QLD and NSW to re-think their goals in life and take charge of their futures.

As a young Jobseeker, Jake drove himself to find work in any field that would allow him to support himself. A supervisor at 19, he moved to Brisbane and quickly found work. Having completed his TAE he now trains others to have the Attitude for success that employers are looking for.

Jake is  22 and recently married.  He spends significant amounts of his time in Volunteer work and believes that young people can take control of their lives when they recognise what regular work and the income that accompanies it, can allow them to do.

How low can you go?

Beetles, worms and lizards — Gregory Smith ate just about anything to stay alive in the forest.

From a homeless hermit to a university lecturer, he’s proven you can overcome anything in your search for a safe place.

He shares his story with Australian Story.
